Celebrity Hairstyles – Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Emma Watson

Celebrity hairstyles are always changing. From one cut to another, stars past and present (and almost certainly into the future), have gone through extreme changes to how they wear their hair. Responses vary – some people love the changes, while others believe they are a disaster. But no matter what, the celebs seem to never let the hate bring down their confidence, often tweeting or sending out messages specifically to show this to anyone who still wishes to criticise them. Just in the past few years, many celebrities idolised by teens have decided to change hairstyles, and they all seemed very happy with the results – here are just a few examples:

Taylor Swift – Back in 2012, Taylor stunned fans of hers when she debuted her new hairstyle, getting rid of her naturally long and bouncy ringlet curls and instead choosing to straighten her hair and add a blunt fringe. This change in style came just in time for the so-called “Red Era” – her 4th album “Red” due for release just a few months after the change to her hairstyle. While the change to her hair was something as minor as straightening, it certainly caused a stir amongst her fans, many feeling quite upset to see Taylor’s curls go.

Miley Cyrus – When Miley made the choice to cut her hair to a platinum blonde pixie crop, she said it made her feel more like herself than ever before. Despite much criticism about the haircut, she specifically took the time to tweet out about how much she loved her hair, as well as numerous pictures showing off the new hairstyle, also putting in a subtle message that she didn’t care what others thought, saying, “My hair is attached to my head no one else’s and it’s going bye bye”.

Emma Watson – After the end of the Harry Potter movies, Emma was yet another star to make the choice to change to a pixie cut. After being known for her frizzy long hair as Hermione, Emma decided in 2010 to cut off all her long locks. She specifically told reporters that: “It felt right, I’m 20, and I’m not a little girl any more. I’d been on Harry Potter for ten years so I needed to mark the end of it in some way. I needed a drastic change and that’s what the crop was all about”.

There is no doubt that the hairstyles of these celebrities will change even more as the years go on, as will others. Some celebrity hairstyles last for months, while others are constantly changing as the celebrities want to try new things. One thing, however, is for sure; there is no celebrity who can please everyone with their hairstyle!
