Katy Perry & Niall Horan Celebrate Their (Fake) Engagement with a Selfie

Look out, John Mayer. Despite her vows to the contrary, it seems Katy Perry went and got engaged to someone else – a One Direction singer, no less!

Well, not really, but Perry and Niall Horan joked this week that they got engaged after meeting up in Japan, with Horan posting an Instagram selfie of the pair looking quite cozy.

“She said yes! It’s happening! Haha,” wrote the 20-year-old Irishman.

Later, he posted another photo of Perry, 29, posing with his bandmates. “Me and my groomsmen and my lovely wife hahahaha,” he wrote.

Perry and Horan have had a mini crush on each other for some time. He even stole a kiss from her at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2012, and later told British Cosmopolitan: “It was amazing and very purple – she had purple lipstick on. I don’t think there will ever be anything cooler than kissing her … until I marry her, maybe.”

He upped the ante a week ago on Twitter, writing: “I love you @katyperry ! Thank you! Ps Will u marry me?”

One Direction arrived in Tokyo earlier this week and will play concerts in the city on Saturday and Sunday nights. Perry, meanwhile, was in town to promote new album Prism.
