How to Choose Clothes When You Are Overweight

Who says that fat women cannot look gorgeous and slim? Just because you have gained some extra kilos will prevent you from looking fabulous. All it requires is a little know-how about the right kind of clothing. Trust me, even women who look for “L” or “XL” clothes while shopping can look slim if they know the tricks to dress nicely with proper clothing. Good dressing sense will help you to hide or accentuate certain areas of your body flaunting the perfect look.

Play with Bright Colors to Look Slim

Most of us are fond of black. Now, you will be happy to know that black color is naturally slimming. Not only black but if you dress up in any bright colored clothes, it will just do a wonder in improving your entire appearance. Now, let me share you the trick of dressing with bright colored clothes.

You hate your bulky tummy, right? Wear a nice black tank top or t shirt and pair it with a bright cardigan. Now simply slip into a nice patterned skirt and just notice the change in your appearance. The bright color will draw the entire focus away from your pot belly and black will make you look slim naturally. Isn’t it great?

I will always recommend to keep lively and bright colors for t-shirts, tops, jackets and shirts. Team them up with a long, black jacket to flaunt the desirable look. Again, if you dress up in a single dark color, like black or navy blue, it will make you look like a person who has shed lots of weight.

If your thighs are heavy, slip into black trousers and wear colorful sweaters. Now, while choosing a pair of trouser or skirts, select the one without pleats, as it adds more volume to the stomach. It is best to avoid flared pants or wide-leg trousers as they will make you look more bulky.

Besides black, some other slimming colors include olive, navy, grey, violet, charcoal, plum, chocolate brown and burgundy.

  • Choose well-fitted T-shirts that offer nice fitting to your waist and shoulders. If you are choosing a casual top, make sure that the bottom half looks well-fitted and tailored. If you are wearing button-down shirt with trouser, make sure that the shirt is not very tight and fit comfortably across the stomach and the bust, offering you an elegant look.
  • It is better to skip halter tops or spaghetti-strap.
  • Do not go for cropped lengths cardigans and jackets. Full-length cardigans and jackets will make you look more in shape.
  • If your forearms are well shaped, you can try three quarter sleeves. Full sleeves garments are good if your arms are heavy and you are not willing to flaunt them.
  • Shapeless baggy clothes will make your look more fat and unorganized.

Choosing the Leggings

You need to be a bit careful while wearing leggings. It is better to avoid leggings if you have larger buttocks, thighs or bottom. However, if you love to wear legging, team it with a tunic-style top that is bit flowing. Well-designed tunics and smocks in gorgeous colors are great to cover up the bulk collected around your waist line. Pair them up with sturdy leggings to flaunt a stylish look.

Capri Pants Are Wonderfully Slimming

It is a popular belief that Capri pants are only for girls having attractive figures. Not at all, as they are great to make chubby girls look slim. You just need to make the right choice. Opt for dark denim or black Capri pants. Choose Capri pants that are neither too short nor too long. The pants should end at the least-wide portion of your calves, ideally couple of inches from your ankle.

Above all, choose clothes that are comfortable and fit well and carry yourself with confident.
