Gwyneth Paltrow’s Paternal Grandmother, Dorothy Paltrow, Dies

Gwyneth Paltrow’s grandmother has died, according to an obituary in a Florida newspaper.

Dorothy W. Paltrow died March 31, the Palm Beach Post reports. The mother of late director Bruce Paltrow, Gwyneth’s father, she originally lived in Great Neck, N.Y., before relocating to Palm Beach, Fla. She is survived by two children, five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. The family will hold a private memorial service, according to the paper.

It has been a difficult few weeks for Gwyneth, who announced her separation – a “conscious uncoupling” – from Coldplay rocker Chris Martin on March 24. The two A-listers have been married for 10 years and are parents to daughter Apple, 9½, and son Moses, 8.
