David Beckham’s Latest Underwear Ads Involve Stunts, Sexy Smirks and … Possibly No Underwear at All

If you suddenly discovered you had the power to vote on whether you’d rather see David Beckham covered-up or, well, not … you’d be pretty pleased, right? Then today is going to be a good day for you, because H&M (which sells Beckham’s underwear line) is giving you that awesome responsibility. Beckham shot two versions of H&M’s upcoming Super Bowl ads, and he’s asking fans to vote on which spot — the Covered or Uncovered version — they’d like to see on Feb. 2.

In these teasers for the ad, shot by Drive director Nicolas Winding Refn, Beckham gets locked out of a photoshoot for David Beckham Bodywear while wearing only his skivvies. He then has to get creative about how he gets back into the studio (presumably without being mobbed by fans once they see him in various states of undress). In the #Uncovered spot, he gives the crew an eyeful, but the #Covered ad appears to give fans a better view of those famously powerful Beckham legs.

“It was so exciting to work with one of my favorite directors on my new campaign for H&M,” Beckham said in a statement. “Nicolas pushed me hard to create an action-packed film, which shows off this season’s new heritage-inspired bodywear at its best.” Don’t believe you’re seeing the real Beckham’s behind? This behind-the-scenes video, below, shows the star doing his own stunts.

Voting starts Jan. 27 in stores and on HM.com — and if you find yourself at the Times Square H&M on Feb. 1, you’ll have the chance to see Beckham in person. Fully clothed, of course, but that might all change Feb. 2 depending on how you vote.
