Adam Levine & Behati Prinsloo’s Wedding Weekend Begins on the Beach

Celebrations are in full swing for Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo’s wedding.

On Friday night, the couple hosted a gathering of loved ones in Los Cabos, Mexico.

Beachside with the exclusive El Dorado Golf & Beach Club private community, guests dined on Mexican good, including churros for dessert.

“Everyone seemed to have a great time,” a sources says. “The party went to the late hours.”

The fun-filled gathering is fitting for the Maroon 5 singer-turned-The Voice mentor and his bride-to-be.

Levine, 35, recently told PEOPLE that their nuptials “won’t be typical, I can tell you that.”

What it will be is a group effort, with his Maroon 5 bandmates having significant roles in the ceremony. Jesse Carmichael, his longtime pal and keyboard player, will be his best man, and the band’s guitarist James Valentine will play an acoustic medley as guests enter.

PEOPLE’s reigning Sexiest Man Alive and the Victoria’s Secret model got engaged last July. The two were first spotted holding hands in New York a year earlier.
