Lorde and Beyoncé Dominated the 15.2 Million Grammy Night Tweets

Music lovers were rocking their keyboards Sunday night during the 56th Grammy Awards. According to Twitter, the event inspired over 15.2 million Tweets during its East Coast airing.

Lorde reigned over the conversation, as the most mentioned celebrity of the night. The 17-year-old, who took home a gold gramophone for song of the year, generated more than 145,000 Tweets per minute for her performance and best pop solo win.

Fans and friends, including BFF Taylor Swift, used hashtags to share their excitement for the “Royals” singer.

Before Lorde took the stage, Beyoncé’s “Drunk in Love” performance with hubby Jay Z, which was enough to make any chair blush, started the award show off with a frenzy of posts and turned #surfboard into one the “it” hashtags of the Grammys.
