Cher Releases Her 26th Solo Album at 67

How does Cher keep up with her demanding schedule and still manage to look so good at 67?

“I kill myself!” she told PEOPLE at a recent party to promote Closer to the Truth, her 26th solo album, at Tao Downtown, where she caught up with old friends and posed for pictures with some of the many drag queens in attendance.

The singer, who recently went blond, spent a whirlwind week promoting the album in New York City, including a stop by Late Night with David Letterman, and plans to embark on her 49-city Dressed to Kill tour in March, at the age of 67 years young.

“I think I’m some freak of nature,” she joked. “I’m starting to believe it myself.”

But the grueling schedule of releasing an album and promoting it isn’t always a good time.

“I have been up since four thirty [in the morning]!” she said. “I mean a girl has to get up later than that!”
