How To Remove Sunspots – 4 Methods

Sunspots are something that we typically get as we age, especially if we were someone who spent a lot of time out in the sun as we were children and young adults without sunscreen. For some people, they just become part of who they are; for others, they become a nuisance and somewhat of an embarrassment. For those who want to remove their sunspot and age spots, there are a few different methods they can take to become spot free.

The first method is by utilizing natural methods to create gradual fading.

  • With this method, you can start by getting yourself a lemon. What you do is you slice the lemon into manageable slices. Take a slice and rub it on your skin, applying it directly to the sunspots or age spots for ten to fifteen minutes each day. If you do not have a lemon but you have limes, same deal. What happens is that the acid in the fruit lightens the spots.
  • Aloe vera is another natural way. Apply the aloe vera twice a day to heal the spots.
  • Tea bags are a third way to utilize natural methods for removal. Steep the tea bag in hot water for a few minutes, three to five is ideal. Take a cotton ball and squeeze the tea bag onto the cotton ball and then rub the cotton ball over the sunspots.
  • Buttermilk. If you have any spots on your face, this is a good option. Simply apply it to your face and let it sit for a few minutes.
 Over the counter products.
  • Try to obtain products that contain Kojic acid. This stuff has been shown to reduce the sunspots and age spots.
  • Look for creams and other products to contain Tretinoin and Renova since these ingredients have been proven to help reduce the spots.
  • Creams that contain azelaic acid are a good option as well.

Professional services for removal.

  • Getting laser removal at a studio, will be able to do this quickly, easily, and safely. This method is arguably the most effective and safest since you are under supervision of a doctor and a spot is removed in seconds.
  • You can also get a chemical peel. Any dermatologist can do this, which removes the top few layers of skin.
  • Freezing them off with Cryotherapy. The spots freeze, scab, then fall off, all in about a week.
