All About Indoor Wall Climbing

There’s a lot of sports where we can get ourselves involved with. Apart from keeping our extra time into something more productive and worth-doing, it’s fun and enjoyable. It makes us fit and healthy. It keeps us active all through the day. Nowadays a lot of people are becoming more adventurous. They want something new, exciting and fun. One sport that requires strength and agility is indoor wall climbing. Climbing Wall is becoming more popular these days. It promotes better endurance and develops our climbing skills at a different level. Here are some facts about the sport of indoor wall climbing:

Operation of the System. Use of climbing wall involves a simple procedure. Specialist’s instructions should be strictly followed to fully and safely enjoy the sport of climbing. Wearing of protective gears at all times is of paramount importance to ensure safety and prevent injuries.

General Description. Designed for both young and adults alike, the Climbing Wall is provided with GRP Unique Triangles, which are custom-made in various shapes and sizes to create more challenging routes and climbing possibilities tailored to climber’s needs. The 3-dimensionality of the unique triangles makes climbing an extra-ordinary experience. Metal stainless bands are provided on all angles/edges created between unique triangles to relieve frictions that will be developed to the climbing rope along these angles. It is provided with anti-rotational T-nuts screwed into the panel. To ensure safety for toddlers, a boulder mat is provided to prevent injuries in case of accidental falls. To get the maximum climbing experience, equipments and protective gears are provided such as climbing ropes, carabineers, harness, quick draw, belay devices, rappel, protection devices and helmet. Above all things, safety should be given utmost attention throughout the entire use of the climbing wall.

Procedure. Wear protective gears. Put on the harness. With the climbing rope attached to the belay hanger, attach the climbing rope to the climbing harness. Ensure that the connections are properly checked before climbing the wall and one end of the climbing rope is attached or being held by any person big enough to counter your weight and all dynamic weights during the entire course of climbing the wall. Position yourself in front of the climbing route you wish to take. Put both hands to the nearest climbing holds or whichever hold is more convenient for you. Put one foot on the first climbing hold nearer to your foot. Start climbing by putting your foot and hands progressively onto the holds one after the other until you reach and touch the highest level of the wall. Release yourself from holding on to the climbing holds. You will remain suspended until the person progressively repelling you down.

Maintenance. Continued maintenance is necessary to maintain the efficiency of the climbing wall and other climbing equipments and accessories, and prevent any untoward incidents involving safety. Inspect climbing holds, T-nuts, etc., for defects and other components of the wall. Replace damaged climbing holds and other components immediately. Suspend use of climbing wall until damaged climbing components have been properly replaced.
