Don’t Let a Clutch Bag Kill Your Look

Next time you’re out and about, take a few minutes to stop and observe people. What you see may disturb you: women who have let their clutch bags completely destroy their entire look. It is a sad but true reality today. The good news is that you don’t have to let it happen to you.

With a little bit of information and good advice, you can learn to choose clutch bags that will make your outfit rather than breaking it. Here are a few tips you might find helpful:

1. Body Type – Every fashion accessory you choose should be considered as it relates to your body type. Why? Because the clothing and accessories you choose can be either flattering or unflattering. Smaller women need to keep their choice of clutch bags appropriately small. Tall women can go for something a bit longer or larger. And of course, larger women should stay away from petite models.

2. Colour Choices – Your choice of colours will be determined by how often you intend to use the bag. For example, a clutch bag you intend to use with multiple outfits on different occasions should probably be a more neutral colour. However, if you are trying to create a specific ensemble for unique occasions, you can choose a colour that complements the rest of your look nicely.

3. Bag Capacity – In addition to choosing clutch bags according to your body type, you also need to take into consideration the idea of bag capacity. For instance, you will not likely need to carry a lot with you to a formal event where you’ll be wearing a cocktail dress and crop top. A bag with a small capacity will probably be just fine. Nevertheless, you’ll need greater capacity for a clutch bag you intend to keep with you all day.

 4. Removable Strap – Even though clutch bags are designed to be carried in the hands, there are times when that’s just inconvenient. Trust us when we say that it’s not a sin to look for a clutch bag with a removable strap. In fact, it’s a pretty smart move. There are plenty of occasions when that strap will come in handy.

5. Separate Purchases – There’s a big temptation to buy a clutch bag on impulse, simply because it looks pretty or you think it might go well with something in your wardrobe. But it’s far safer to purchase your clutch bags at the same time you’re making other purchases. For example, if you’re already planning to buy dresses online, plan your next clutch bag purchase at the same time. Doing so makes it much easier to match the bags with the clothing you are purchasing.
