Royal Christening: Prince William, Kate and Prince George Pose for Official Portrait

The joy of succession.

On Thursday, the Palace released four official portraits showcasing the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their son, Prince George, taken after the young royal was christened on Wednesday.

In one of the historic photographs taken by celebrity photographer Jason Bell Queen Elizabeth sits with three generations of heirs – the Queen, 87, poses with son Prince Charles, 64, grandson Prince William, 31, and 3-month-old Prince George. The image pays homage to a photograph taken in 1894 of Queen Victoria with her four living immediate heirs at the christening of then Prince Edward Albert of York.

Taken in the Morning Room at Clarence House immediately following Prince George’s baptism Wednesday, the infant takes center stage throughout the series.

One photograph shows George with his great-grandparents the Queen and Prince Philip, his grandparents Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, his uncle Prince Harry, aunt Pippa Middleton, uncle James Middleton, and grandparents Carole and Michael Middleton. Another shows him with his parents, Prince William and Kate, and another with members of the Windsor family.
