Glee Comes to an End

There’s more sad news for Glee fans.

Ryan Murphy, co-creator of the series, announced that the next season of the show (its sixth) will be its last, Variety reports.

Murphy, 47, also said that Cory Monteith’s unexpected death has caused him to rethink the ending of the show, which he had planned around the Rachel/Finn romance.

“The final year of the show, which will be next year, was designed around Rachel and Cory/Finn’s story. I always knew that, I always knew how it would end,” Murphy said to TVLine.

“I knew what the last shot was, he was in it. I knew what the last line was, she said it to him. So when a tragedy like that happens you sort of have to pause and figure out what you want to do, so we’re figuring that out now.”

The statement comes just a week after the emotional tribute episode to Monteith, which Lea Michele, his girlfriend, called “therapeutic.”

“We had a beautiful memorial for Cory in the auditorium, and some of the cast members sang and people spoke about him, Michele said in early October. “It only felt right that we would do the same thing for Finn.”
