How To Get Off Drugs

Where there is a will to get off drugs, then there is a way to get off drugs.

Let those around you know that you are getting off them and accept their offers of help. Sympathy from others can be a help in itself, so why not leverage it to get to where you want to go.Being part of a group can be more powerful and enjoyable than being alone.

Easing yourself away from drugs can be better for your system, than trying an abrupt stop, so a plan of action, can be worked out.

Find out from those who know, what amount of the drug can you decrease using, that will be a reasonable or acceptable shock to your system. Continue at this level of cut down until you can go to the next level and so on, when you will be without any need of the drug.

Think towards your goal in order to remain on track and progress in whatever stages that are needed to completely get off. By doing enough research, you will know what to expect by way of withdrawal. Being forwarned is to be forarmed.

Consider that you are proposing a lifestyle change, so it will be like moving house, to a better one. You will have to learn how to manage without the drug, so positive replacement activity will need to be in the plan to get off drugs. The assistance of your friends will help to put in place, that activity and to adjust your social scene to where you can be doing things like, talking sense. Hello, brave new world.

A change of certain friends where necessary, is in order, to see that you get that cooperative backing.

Talking about things with your friends or with anyone for that matter, is a way to stay grounded and in touch with reality. We socialise each other, so usually having people around helps. If you do relapse to the drug, then your supportive surroundings should be there for you to tap into.

The reason that you got into drugs could still be about, so your plan will have to address it, if you can see it. A healthy approach to staying off addictive substances, will lead you to success if there are no shortcuts and you have daily reminders of your goal. Constancy is part of any peace plan.

Your will is going to be tested in going through the process. Make your living situation predictable enough to minimise disruption. Get enough sleep and nutrition to provide yourself with the stamina needed daily, to succeed. If necessary, wait for sleep to come as we cannot rush it or push it and you can catch up on lost sleep, on the subsequent nights.

Nutrition means whole foods and nothing but the whole foods and no stimulants, like coffee which dehydrates us and moderate alcohol, if any. A food program of 70% starches(high calory), 30% vegetables(low calory) and fruits is optimal for humans. Exercise enough each day to make you healthy, calm and toned. Chin-ups, push-ups and squats are all that you need to give a good work-out for your body.

You should have enough energy now to lead a normal, satisfactory life and get off drugs.
