Women’s Shoes – Colour And Flexibility

There are a huge variety of women’s heels being offered to customers everyday around the world. They come in just about any colour you could imagine. But colours were never made equal after all. Some are tricky to use while others seem to be able to go along with just about anything in your wardrobe.

Simply put, the most flexible colours are usually referred to as base or neutral colours. Their basic role is to fit in rather than stand out. So they’re really considered a “background” colour that is popularly used to highlight a dress, top or accessory. Here is a list of the most flexible colours to use for just about any occasion.

Black

The perennial favourite. Black heels are probably the most widely sold form of heels around the world. And why not? It is after all the safest colour to use for heels by far. As flexible as it is however, it doesn’t really go with everything. There are far better options if you’re looking for true neutrals.

White

White is also considered a neutral colour but it tends to work well only with certain colours. As a rule, white goes along great with other neutral colours. But it really shines when matched with pastels. Just make sure to avoid a single block of colour or your white heels will stand out.

Navy

Blue isn’t the easiest colour to wear, especially when it comes to shoes. However, this changes when you talk about navy. Navy is essentially a very dark shade of blue that has all the flexibility of black. Perfect for those that want something as safe as black, but not as boring.

Nude

For the ultimate in flexibility, you cannot go wrong with nude heels. In the opinions of many, nude is probably the single most flexible tone on the market simply because it is meant to blend in with your skin tone. As such, the entire point of wearing nude heels is to relegate it into the background. This gives you a great opportunity to highlight a dress, top or an accessory with ease.

As an added bonus, it also makes your legs seem longer than they are. So if you’re looking for the best neutral colour that also adds a few inches to your height, try nude high heels. As a general rule, you want to avoid shoes that are too flashy. This may prevent your shoes from blending in properly. For best effect, make sure you choose a colour that matches your skin tone closely.

Cream

Cream is another great neutral colour to have in your arsenal. The colour cream is actually made up of a variety of hues within the cream range. Technically speaking, cream is a yellow tinged white colour but they do come in darker or lighter shades. In many ways, it can be used as nude colouration provided you get a shade that matches your skin tone well.
