Oprah Winfrey Gets Stitched Into Her Dress for the BAFTAs

The talk show legend and actress Oprah Winfrey, who just turned 60, Instagrammed a video of herself being sewn into a crimson gown before heading to the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) awards in London on Sunday, where she was nominated for her supporting actress role in Lee Daniels’ The Butler.

“It’s an hour to go, and this is Raj and Giuseppe, who are literally stitching me into my gown for the red carpet,” she says in the video.

Winfrey then seems to let out a little nervous energy by enthusiastically saying/singing, “Hello Stella McCartney. Stella McCaaartneeey!”

Winfrey ultimately lost out to Jennifer Lawrence, who won the award for her role in American Hustle.

Many were surprised that Winfrey and Lee Daniels’ The Butler were not nominated for any Academy Awards this season, but the snub doesn’t seem to have turned her off from acting. She may appear in a revival of Marsha Norman’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play ‘night, Mother on Broadway next year.
