Lady Gaga to Perform in Space

In space, no one can hear you scream, but soon they’ll be able to hear Lady Gaga sing.

The “Applause” singer is set to perform the first ever concert in space as part of Zero G Colony, a three-day music festival, in early 2015.

The 27-year-old confirmed her appearance on Wednesday, Tweeting the hashtag “GagaInSpace2015,” while a source tells PEOPLE that the event, which is taking place at Spaceport America, the world’s first commercial spaceport, in New Mexico, will feature a mix of entertainment and cutting-edge technology, with Gaga providing the big finale.

“On the third day of the event Lady Gaga will take off from the Spaceport on board a Virgin Galactic SpaceShip Two spacecraft,” the source says. “Upon reaching space she will become the first ever-recording artist to perform outside the atmosphere, in zero gravity.”

The mind boggles imagining the gravity-defying choreography (and hairstyles) Mother Monster will come up with, but we have one question: What will E.T. make of her meat dress?
