How You Can Make Pizza for Dessert

While you may not have thought about pizza as a dessert, there are a great many recipes that you can follow to easily make one at home. All you need, besides the ingredients, of course, is some leftover dough. You can either make the dough yourself or buy it in a store. Here are a few of the more popular ones that people have been making for several years.

Strawberry dessert pizza is a favorite of many people. This is typically made using shortbread crust, cream cheese custard, and fruit toppings. Some people will add cocoa power do the crust and also add kiwi, blueberries, and other fruits. Apples are another popular choice. You sauté them in brown sugar, cinnamon, and butter, then place them on your dough and bake. Some people like sprinkling the apples with icing while others will put ice cream on top.

Cinnamon Streusel
For years, cinnamon streusel has been a pizza dessert staple. You combine a tablespoon of butter with melted cinnamon, and then mix together your streusel using a half-cup of flour, one-third of a cup of white sugar, and the same amount of brown sugar. You will also use two tablespoons of vegetable shortening and two tablespoons of olive oil. You’ll also want to make icing, of course, so mix together a cup of powdered sugar, a half-teaspoon of vanilla, and a tablespoon of milk.

Mix the streusel ingredients together in a 12-inch pizza pan after you put in your dough. Perforate the dough with a fork to keep bubbles from forming, and then brush with your melted butter. Sprinkle the cinnamon around the crust, and top it with the streusel mix. Then, bake for about eight or nine minutes at 460 degrees and mix in the icing.

Chocolate
This takes a pound of dough, two teaspoons of melted butter, a quarter-cup of a chocolate-hazelnut spread, and a half-cup of semisweet chocolate chips. You’ll also need two tablespoons of milk chocolate chips, two tablespoons of white chocolate chips, and two tablespoons of chopped, toasted hazelnuts.

Preheat your oven to 450 degrees. Use parchment paper to line a large baking sheet, and then roll out a nine-inch diameter circle of dough. Put that dough on the baking sheet and then make indentions throughout with your fingers. Take your butter and brush the dough, and bake until your crust is golden brown. This will probably take about 20 minutes. Apply the chocolate-hazelnut spread as soon as you can and the sprinkle the chocolate chips. Put the pie back in the oven until the chocolate starts to melt, which usually takes about a minute. Then, sprinkle the hazelnuts over the pizza, cut it into wedges, and serve.
