How to Make Fake Nails Stay On Longer

Fake nails or acrylic nails are the latest rage among women of all ages. A myriad of designs can be made on them, giving manicures a whole new meaning. Women are able to opt for designs to show off their personal style and the latest trends. Designs that range from cartoon characters to newspaper prints are available. Some are feminine with light colours while others are edgy and modern.

Previously, manicures were mostly done in nail salons by professional nail technicians. While most women still prefer to get their nails done by professionals, many women are now learning how to do it themselves in the comfort of their own homes. the items and kits that are needed are available in most stores nowadays, thus making it easier for women to learn how to do different manicures on their own.

One problem that women face when they apply fake nails or gel nails is that they do not last longer than a few days. If proper care is taken, they should last a week or so. It is important to remember to trim the nails and push back the cuticles. The nails should also be dry, that is free of oils as well as dirt. To ensure a clean and dry nail bed which is necessary for any manicure, we can wipe them with a cotton ball soaked in some rubbing alcohol.

The next step is to very lightly rough up the nail bed with a file. We must remember to file in one direction only. We then pre-select the ten acrylic nails by testing which fits each finger best and lay them out before we begin to glue them on.

We then place a drop of glue near the bottom of each nail and press the nail onto the natural nail bed and hold it there for a minute or two. We repeat this for all the other nails and we then have beautiful nails. The trick is to always make sure that our nails are clean and dry before gluing the fake ones on. This will ensure that they last longer.
