Fall Wedding Colors

Fall is one of the most beautiful seasons. The rich colors of nature and cooler temperatures make it one of most ideal times to host a wedding. It is no wonder that a rustic wedding is a popular theme for this time of year. Autumn is a season for bountiful harvests, and the colors that come with it are indicative of that. Color combinations do affect the atmosphere of your wedding so choose wisely. Here are a few color combinations for your bridal party to wear that are sure to enhance the fall season.

Deep orange and red are a beautiful combination for a bridal party. Because these colors are closest to each other on the color wheel, it is a good idea to add a third color as an accent. A little bit of green or even teal added to this scheme will balance out the richness of the warmer shades. Because not everyone looks good in orange, it is wise to choose red as the primary color. If you must have your bridesmaids wear orange, have them pick their dresses in a shade of their choosing. It is quite vogue for dresses to be individualized. You can have your bridesmaids wear matching necklaces and earrings if continuity is important to you.

Sage and cream are wonderful together and perfect for a fall wedding. Because these colors are lighter, add depth with brown hued accents. The bride can wear a cream or off-white wedding dress and carry a bouquet tied in a sage colored ribbon. The bridesmaids dresses can be the same shade of green while their bouquets are made of cream-colored blossoms tied with willow branches for a rustic feel. If your wedding is outdoors, the bridesmaids can also wear cream-colored pashmina wraps or shawls to stay warm without sacrificing style. For a cute touch, the flower girl can drop fall- colored leaves and ivory flower petals on her way to the altar.

Another color combination to consider is forest green and mustard yellow. Either one can be used for bridesmaid dresses. Just make sure the groomsmen’s ties are the same shade as what the ladies are wearing. If you choose green, make sure the bouquets and boutonnières are made of rich yellow blossoms. Chrysanthemums are a good choice for this as their blooms are big and bright. The ladies’ jewelry should reflect the season, so bronze earrings and bracelets would be a perfect accent.

These color combinations are all very different and beautiful. Each one is sure to bring richness and a rustic earthiness to your special day.
