Would You Like to Experience Atlantis?

By on

Atlantis, or Atlantida in Spanish really does exists! Located in the heart of Central America’s Caribbean Coast, in the tropical country of Honduras, Atlantida is the name of the new up and coming destination in Central America. Now that you know this, may I ask: Would you like to experience Atlantis?

Assuming your answer is yes, the first thing you will need to know is how to get there! You can use two different airports to get to Atlantis or Atlantida: The San Pedro Sula International airport or the Roatan International Airport. Either way, once there it is easy to get to Atantida. From San Pedro Sula you can fly, take a bus or rent a car. You can of course hire a tour operator to pick you up and provide the transfers.

From Roatan, you can fly or take the state of the art water jet catamara ferry: Galaxy Wave for a short 1:45 hour transfer to the City of La Ceiba, capital of Atlantida.

Atlantida has three major hubs: the city of Tela, located about one hour from the San Pedro Sula Airport, the City of La Ceiba, located about two hours from the San Pedro Sula airport, and the Cangrejal River Valley.

Atlantida is the most complete nature and adventure destination in Central America, so depending on your answer to the question of would you like to experience Atlantis, you can plan on the specifics for your ideal trip to Atlantis.

If you are looking for a beach destination, where you can explore beautiful beaches, visit Garifuna villages, explore some coastal national parks and even play golf in a Pete Dye designer Golf Course, then Tela is the ideal spot for you.

If you are more of an outdoor person, looking for incredible hiking through the tropical rain forests in the rugged mountains of Central America and discovering awesome waterfalls that are hidden behind the forests, exploring mangrove canals or relaxing in pristine white sand beaches and diving among some of the best preserved coral reefs in the Caribbean at Cayos Cochinos, also known as the Hog Cays, then La Ceiba is ideal for you. Incidentally, La Ceiba is also the gateway to the Caribbean Bay Islands of Honduras!

Finally, if you are looking for a true adventure of a lifetime, rafting or kayaking world class III and IV rapids through a spectacular crystal clear waters of the Cangrejal River, descending waterfall using the rappelling technique, or zip lining through the forest canopy, then the Cangrejal River is ideal for you.

As you can guess by now, Atlantis, or Atlantida is a complete destination where you can truly enjoy a travel experience that will be unique and different!
