6 Home Remedies to Restore the Shine of Your Crowning Glory

How often do you torture your hair with random styling tools or douse it in harmful chemicals? Chances are pretty often. Can you really blame your hair if it is dying a slow death? It is not just your skin that needs regular pampering. Your hair can do with some attention too. Here are 6 natural recipes to restore the shine and bounce in your crowning glory.

Mayonnaise

Mayonnaise not only tastes incredible, but can also double up as a deep conditioner. Don’t believe us? Try this: drench your hair in hot water, take mayonnaise straight out of the jar and lather it liberally over your locks. Wrap your head in a shower cap and let the heat open your pores. Let the mayo sit for at least 20 minutes before washing it off with a mild shampoo. Shampoo your hair repeatedly until every last trace of mayonnaise is washed off. This treatment will make your hair feathery soft.

Beer

Did you know that beer contains silica, which strengthens your locks and restores its shine? Apparently, it is like an elixir for your limp locks. Here is what you need to do. Take a bottle of beer, doesn’t matter if it’s ale or a lager, and soak your hair in it. Massage the brew on your scalp for a few minutes before rinsing it. You will have a tough time keeping your hands off your silky locks.

Honey

You have probably used honey in your beauty packs; now is the time you use it for your mane too. Its moisturizing and anti-bacterial properties are sure to leave you surprised. Mix 2 tablespoons of honey with 2 cups of warm water. Spray the solution liberally on your dry locks; let it sit for a few minutes before rinsing your hair in cold water. It works like a charm!

 Gelatin

It might sound a little crazy using gelatin for hair treatment, but effects are amazing. Try this. Take 1 tablespoon of gelatin, 1 cup of warm water, 1 tablespoon vinegar and a few drops of lavender oil. Mix all the ingredients together until they form into a smooth consistency. Apply it over your wet locks, leave it on for 20 minutes and rinse it off with lukewarm water. You will have locks that can beat that of any Hollywood diva.

Yoghurt

Yoghurt is an ingredient that you can rely on with your eyes closed. It is rich in lactic acids that smoothen  rough ends and soothe itchy scalp. Whisk some plain yoghurt into crème consistency and apply it liberally through your scalp. Leave it on for 30 minutes, before your wash it off with a mild shampoo. With yoghurt to the rescue, you can bid adieu to flaky dandruff for good.

Black Tea

Yet another reason to stock up on the goodness of black tea. Caffeine present in the black tea is known to reduce hormone counts in your body that are associated with hair loss. Soak 2 or 3 used tea bags in boiled water overnight and give your hair a last rinse with the solution after shampooing. It works like a charm.

If no amount of natural remedy has been fruitful in curbing hair loss, it is time you seek assistance of a doctor.
